Over the course of 6 learning sessions and 6 coaching sessions, you will receive mentorship directly from nationally recognized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) thought leader and bestselling author, Rhodes Perry. He will share distinctive stories from his extensive career as a workplace culture strategist, as he introduces you to the specific inclusive behaviors you will practice. Embodying these behaviors will empower you to show up, move up, and inspire the next generation. Most importantly, the guidance offered in this learning series will help you overcome the costs of social exclusion at work. Left unchecked, these costs will undermine your organization’s DEI goals and sour your organization's culture.

Goal: Empower executives to build a felt sense of belonging at work for all stakeholder by developing strategies that center colleagues most likely to endure social exclusion at work.

Structure: There are a total of 12 virtual hours where executives will gather with Rhodes Perry. Six of these hours include learning workshops outlined below, and the other 6 hours are dedicated to group coaching sessions. Throughout all parts of this leadership series, executives will have ample opportunities to practice applying the skills they are learning.

Rhodes Perry

I created this series because I envision a world where everyone on the job enjoys authentic connections with their colleagues, feels seen for who they are, gets the support they need to do their best work, and feels pride and purpose on the job - in other words, they feel an emotional outcome of belonging, and I want to help leaders like you build it at work.

I love helping leaders, visionaries, and change agents build more psychological safety, more trust, and more belonging at work for those of us who are most likely to endure the sting of social exclusion - most likely to feel invisible, discouraged, disconnected, and invisible on the job. Tragically, even in the powerful #BelongingMovement we are building together, I encounter leaders on the verge of giving up on their DEI commitments.

That's why I spent the past two decades working in-and-with many organizations researching, testing, and changing promising practices that lead to more employees feeling a sense of belonging at work. What I have learned along the way is now enshrined in my bestselling books, Belonging at Work and Imagine Belonging.

This series brings together what I've discovered during my 20-year journey in the diversity, equity and inclusion field and in a wide variety of intersecting social justice movements.

I’m excited to join you on this enormous learning journey.

Together let's grow our #BelongingMovement!

Coaching Sessions

A 60-minute, group coaching session follows each of the above learning workshops. These sessions invite and empower participants to demonstrate and process what they have learned. Participants are encouraged to bring real-world and relevant challenges to these sessions where the group can workshop solutions together.

During each session, participants will be encouraged to explore the following questions:

What?
What did you notice about yourself, your relationships, and your organization as you were engaged with the content from this past workshop?

So What?
Based on your observations, what does this now mean for you, your relationships, and your organization? How are you making meaning of this experience?

Now What? Based on your experiences, what are you now willing to do to explore who you are intentionally including, and who you may be unintentionally excluding?

What else is included?

Participant Workbooks

On top of all of the great learning and coaching that will take place over the course of this executive coaching program, participants will receive six workbooks that correspond to each learning and coaching session. The workbooks empower participants to make meaning out of the content they are learning and practicing and will allow participants to reference this content long after this executive learning series is completed.

Limited Scholarships Available

Team Belonging recognizes the inequities in accessing professional development resources, which is why we have set aside a limited number of partial scholarships for emerging practitioners, and those with lower income/wealth to have an opportunity to engage in this leadership program. If you would like to be considered for a partial scholarship, please ask yourself these questions:

                    1.     Do I work for a well-resourced organization?

                    2.     Does my organization cover my professional development expenses?

                    3.     Am I debt free and do I have access to disposable income?

                    4.     Have I attended private education, or have an advanced degree?

                    5.     Do I have caregiving responsibilities for minor or adult dependents?

                    6.     Can I access and afford care services for my caregiving responsibilities - without                                        sacrificing my basic needs?

                    7.     Do I have access to affordable healthcare?

                    8.     Am I/or are members of my family homeowners or landowners?

Many thanks to Tanya Rumble and Nicole McVan's Community of Practice for developing these questions.

If most of your answers were NO, please contact us at hello@rhodesperry.com to discuss scholarship options.
